The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Illini Hall project will create advanced classroom and research spaces focused on creating knowledge through mathematics, statistics, data analysis, and machine learning. The project is pursing LEED platinum including a DOAS system, PV, and rainwater harvesting system. A dramatic circular stair winds from the ground floor to the top of the building beckoning building users to use the stairs as part of a progressive approach to human performance. The design includes an auditorium, active learning classrooms, a data science commons and workshop, and faculty offices.
